Happy New Year! I’m on time this time. Hurray to me! And congratulations to you.
It’s a new year and of course there are goals and resolutions. Mine are the usual – lose weight, read outside my comfort zone, spend more time with family, kick ass in the day job, and of course, write.
If you follow me on Instagram @timenduaghahowa then you know that my friends and I started writing what is now a five book inspirational romance series for nanowrimo. There’s three of us and I will be introducing them to you soon, and so far, it’s been fun, and hard, and tediuous and scary and rewarding. I’m meant to write two novellas – One Bad Boy Romance and One Single Father/Secret Crush Romance. I love those tropes, especially the Bad Boy Romance and I really hope I do them justice.
I’m about 17,000 words into the bad boy romance and the more I say it, the more I want to defend my guy. He’s not necessarily a bad boy, more like a misunderstood prodigal son. So we’ll call this trope The Prodigal Son Romance. That’s not the name of the book! I’m still undecided on that. I wanted to go with Music of My Heart but both my hubby and my senior in this romance business, Sifa were like “No!” so…
Anyway, I’m 17,000 words in. I’ll be the first to admit there’s a lot of fat so I’m happily calling this the rough draft, not even first draft. It’s going to need work. Pray for me, abeg.
So what are your goals and resolutions? Do they scare you? Do you need extra prayer cover? Leave a comment and let me know.
